About the Role

Grey Wave Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance and service of advanced medical imaging equipment across the West of Ireland. This field-based role focuses on delivering high-quality technical support for a range of diagnostic imaging technologies used in hospital and clinical environments.

You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure imaging systems are installed, maintained and repaired to the highest standards. The role requires strong fault-finding ability, technical expertise and excellent customer communication skills to support clinicians and technical staff while ensuring optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities

​

• Install, service and maintain a range of diagnostic imaging systems across healthcare facilities
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to breakdown calls to ensure minimal equipment downtime
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults using advanced troubleshooting techniques
• Provide remote and telephone technical support where appropriate
• Deliver a high standard of customer service with a focus on first-time fix and system reliability
• Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring issues or improvement opportunities
• Build strong relationships with clinical and technical teams within customer sites
• Maintain accurate service records and technical reports following site visits
• Communicate service insights and potential equipment upgrade opportunities to internal teams
• Participate in technical training programmes to maintain product and systems expertise
• Provide on-call or out-of-hours support when required
• Travel within the territory and occasionally internationally to support training or service requirements

Candidate Profile

​

• Engineering or technical qualification desirable though not essential
• Experience servicing medical devices imaging equipment or complex technical systems preferred
• Knowledge of digital imaging technologies such as CT X-ray ultrasound or similar diagnostic systems advantageous
• Strong IT skills including familiarity with PC hardware operating systems and networking infrastructure
• Understanding of DICOM or healthcare imaging protocols beneficial
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and service teams
• Full clean driving licence
