About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Orthopaedic Area Representative to join a market-leading medical device supplier specialising in orthopaedic surgery and trauma care.
This is a field-based role supporting hospitals across the Waterford/Kilkenny region, where you’ll work closely with surgeons, theatre staff, and procurement teams to deliver first-class clinical and technical support. You’ll play a key role in training, product education, and in-theatre assistance, ensuring optimal outcomes for both surgical teams and patients.
It’s a dynamic position suited to someone who thrives in the operating room environment, values precision and professionalism, and enjoys building long-term clinical partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Support and develop existing orthopaedic business across hospitals in the region.
Identify and convert new business opportunities in line with territory growth plans.
Deliver product education, demonstrations, and in-service training to surgical and nursing staff.
Provide in-theatre support and technical guidance during orthopaedic procedures.
Maintain strong relationships with orthopaedic consultants, clinical teams, and hospital procurement departments.
Assist in the coordination of product supply, stock management, and HSE procurement processes.
Represent the company at training events, workshops, and clinical education programmes.
Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless customer service and consistent regional coverage.
Support surgical cases as required across the wider territory.
Candidate Profile
Strong knowledge of orthopaedics, trauma, anatomy, and surgical techniques.
Previous scrub or clinical theatre experience highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage clinical stakeholders confidently.
Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple hospital relationships simultaneously.
Flexible and resilient, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Full clean driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.
